Manufacturing Execution Systems are computerised systems of which are utilised throughout the manufacturing process. MES is able to provide the relevant and correct information at the exact time in which it is required; it can also show and inform the manufacturing decision-maker the precise steps that need to be taken in order to optimise the ‘current conditions on the plant floor’ to improve production output. MES work in real time to enable the control of multiple elements of the production process (e.g. inputs, personnel, machines and support services).

MES may operate across multi-functional areas, for example: management of product definitions across the product life-cycle, resource scheduling, order execution and dispatch.

Aspentech InfoPlus.21

One of the main MES system that we use is the Aspentech solution.

Aspentech InfoPlus.21, which is an information management system for real-time manufacturing processes, which provides a powerful and versatile development environment for unlocking knowledge; this adds company value and contributes to regulatory and reporting compliance. The key features of this include: A process data historian and applications development platform. Batch Data is stored using Aspen Production record manager (APRM Batch.21) and Batch configuration processes, which also use S95 standards. WERUM execution manager is the key system used in this process.
